Creating a Google+ page for your Blog or Business
Google+ by default is associated with a Google Account. Most user have personal Google accounts and it is not a good idea to continue personal account for Blogs. Unless one has a Google account created specifically for business or for the blog, it is a better to have a dedicated Google Plus page for blogs. Google+ pages provide local businesses, brands, organizations and artists with a public identity and presence on Google+.
Advantages of creating a dedicated Google Plus Page for blogs:
- Create an identity or brand for the blog.
- Monitor and Manage it's own audiences, separate from the main Google+ account.
- Create a dedicated YouTube channel for the blog. (Yes, a Google+ Page is required to create a separate YouTube Channel under the same Google Account)

Step by step guide to create Google+ Brand Pages
Google+ pages are managed through the Google My Business dashboard, allowing businesses to update and share business information on Google.
To create a dedicated Google+ page for your blog:
- Go to https://plus.google.com/pages/create
- If you are creating a Google Plus page for your Blog, select "brand" as the business type.
- On the Next page, name the page, add website like and select type of page again - product or brand.
- Click on Create page
Google+ Page is created and the tour will help you to fill out all other essential information. Click on Edit and start filling out information about your Website/Blog on your Google Plus brand page. You should enter description, tagline, and upload brand image. Change the Page logo and cover photo.
You can toggle between the main Google+ Account and the Google+ Page easily by click on the the right hand top corner account icon.
Dimension for your Google Plus brand cover and profile photo:
For Cover Photo: 2120 x 1192 px (maximum) and 480 x 270 px (minimum)
For Profile Photo: 250 x 250 px
For Profile Photo: 250 x 250 px
