Blogger Android App: How to clear posts stuck saving or publishing or deleting

Blogger Android App posts stuck saving or publishing or deleting

If you love blogging on Blogger and that too, "on the go" then Blogger Android App for your smartphone may be a useful app for blogging. With the Android App you can blog on the go while connected to multiple blogs under your Google Blogger account. Almost all the features are possible such as hyperlinks, inserting pictures, inserting tags or labels, saving draft, setting location etc. However, post scheduling, insert read-more break etc. are not available. Still it is a handy app to have if you feel the need to blog while being away from your computer. But I have encountered some issues with the app.
PROBLEM:
I am using Blogger app version 2.1.1. Those who have used the app must have encountered this problem also where posts gets stuck while publishing or while deleting or while saving. When this happens, that particular post is grayed out and there is nothing you can do to change its state. And when this happens, the post is usually not found on the web in drafts or in published. If you have access to online Blogger on your desktop, you can check if the post got saved or published, which I don't think it would as per previous experiences.

How to clear posts stuck saving, deleting or publishing on Blogger Android App:

Here are a few things that can be done when you have data connection on your phone if there is a post stuck. Before you do, I must warn you that the post you wrote and stuck in error will be lost.

1. Press MENU on the phone >REFRESH.
See if this clears the stuck states to something more favorable.

  • If step 1 did not work, and you are okay with losing your posts stuck, do step 2 & 3 to clear the stuck posts.
  • If you are not okay losing those posts: ignore.

2. Phone SETTINGS > APPLICATION MANAGER > BLOGGER > CLEAR CACHE & CLEAR DATA

3. Open Blogger App again. It will sign in with your Google account and sync. The status as it is online will be restored. Your previous posts in Publishing/deleting/saving states if not saved or published by the app will be lost. This does not bring the stuck posts back but the good thing is that at least you won't have zombie posts stuck in the app.

Link 2 (if you want to recover, there is a workaround shared to recover the post from Blogger App's database file. If it's critical that you recover, you can give it a shot).

If you encountered this issue and found a workaround for it, kindly share your knowledge with our readers in comments please.
