In this post, we shall discuss "How to root and install Cyanogenmod 10.1 (Android 4.2.2 JellyBeans) on Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082?" Before you install Cyanogenmod custom ROM on Samsung Galaxy Grand, we need to root the phone.

Before continuing, enable USB debugging on the phone.

How to enable USB debugging:
  • SETTINGS > MORE tab > ABOUT DEVICE
  • Scroll down till you see “BUILD VERSION” and tap on it 7 times to enable “DEVELOPER OPTIONS”.
  • Go back
  • You should see “Developer Options’ just above ‘About Device”
  • Tap on “Developer Options”
  • Scroll down to “Debugging’ and check “USB DEBUGGING”
  • You will be prompted. Click OK to confirm

Root the Samsung Galaxy Grand:
To install Cyanogenmod custom ROM on Samsung Galaxy Grand, we need to root the phone.


After you have installed Clockworkmod Recovery and rooted Samsung Galaxy Grand, proceed to the steps below to install Cyanogen Mod Rom on Samsung Galaxy Grand.

Install Cyanogenmod 10.1 Android 4.2.2 9 (JellyBeans) on Samsung Galaxy Grand:


After you have installed Clockworkmod Recovery and rooted Samsung Galaxy Grand, follow the steps below to install Cyanogenmod 10.1 Android 4.2.2 9 (JellyBeans).

Steps to install Cyanogenmod 10.1 (Android 4.2.2 JellyBeans) on Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082

Download the Cyanogenmod and required files:
  • Download the CyanogenMod 10.1 Android 4.2.2 custom ROM from here (Refer Downloads section)
  • Download Google Apps here.
  • Put both of these downloaded files to External SD card of your Galaxy Grand I9082. You can use the USB cable for this task.
  • Now disconnect your device from PC. Switch it off and start it in the Recovery Mode. To start in Recovery Mode, do this:
    • Switch ON your device by simultaneously pressing Volume Up + Home + Power keys together.
Backup your stock ROM (recommended): 
    clockworkmod-recovery-cyanogenmod
  • While in the Recovery Mode, go to “backup and restore” option and backup your current ROM to the external SD card.
  • After backup, go back to main menu and “wipe data/factory reset”.
  • Then go to “advanced” and “wipe dalvik cache”.
  • Go back and select “mounts and storage” and “format system” 
  • Then, navigate to “install zip from SD card” >> “choose zip from external sdcard”.
    • Navigate using the volume up and down buttons
    • Select using the power button

  • Select the zip file stored on the external sd card - CM10.1 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROM
  • After CM 10.1 installation is completed, install Google Apps by following the same procedure.
  • Reboot by selecting the “reboot system now” option in the main recovery menu.

That’s all!
You should now have Cyanogenmod 10.1 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on your Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082.
