How to share internet connection from Mobile to computer using WiFi hotspot? 

At times, we may need to share internet connection from mobile phone to a computer. If its a laptop, we can use Wireless Hotspot to share internet from mobile phone to the laptop. If an Android mobile device has 'Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot' feature, the mobile device can act as a wi-fi hotspot to let computers with wi-fi connectivity to surf the internet by using the mobile phone's data connection.

This short demo video explains how to use Wireless Hotspot to share internet from mobile phone to the laptop. 




Demo on: Samsung Galaxy Grand (Jelly Beans)

Steps:

On the Phone:

• Enable Data Connection
• On the Android Device, go to settings
• Find Wireless and Networks
• Select 'Tithering and Portable Hotspot'
• Enable 'Portable Wi-Fi hotspot'
• Note the SSID and the password to connect OR configure one yourself

 On the computer:

• Turn on Wi-Fi
• Find the Phone's Hotspot by SSID name
• Connect
• Enter the passkey

You should now be able to browse internet on the PC using the phone's data connection.
