Where is Windows Movie Maker in Windows 10?
Windows Movie Maker is a video editing software by Microsoft. It is a
part of Windows Essentials software suite and offers the ability to
create and edit videos as well as to publish them on OneDrive, Facebook,
Vimeo, YouTube, and Flickr. Windows Movie Maker is quite a basic movie maker with limited features.
But it is good for basic video editing purposes and Windows users love
it! For basic video editing, it gets the job done. Windows Movie Makers is however, not available on Windows 10. But if you need

- Download Windows Live Essentials from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/movie-maker
- Install it
- During installation, you can choose to install only Movie Maker or other applications in the suite such as Messenger, Writer, Outlook etc.
How to run old Window Movie Maker version in Windows 10 in Compatibility Mode?
To run Windows Movie Maker in compatibility mode in Windows 10 do the following:
- Find Windows Movie Maker Application file (.exe)
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Photo Gallery\MovieMaker.exe
- Right-click and click "Properties"
- Click on the "Compatibility" tab
- Under "Compatibility Mode", check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
- Select :Window 7
- Apply and Ok to exit.
